Canadian artist Howie Tsui redesigned an old pinball machine into a simulation of a musket-ball rattling around a soldier's guts for an exhibition on the War of 1812. It's meant to demonstrate the way that repetition and concentration can inure a person to the horrors of war.

My tuppence-worth in the tweet/sleet/bloot debate is that the symbol of this site is a butterfly, and as Edward Lorenz tells us the flap of a butterfly’s wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world, we should call them ‘flaps’. As in “Did you see my flaps today?”

Why does People Magazine name a new "Sexiest Man Alive" every year? It doesn't make any sense to name a new one if the old one is still alive. The new one should have to fight the old one to the death. Like Highlander.
