#AMR #Klebsiella cause >100,000 neonatal deaths globally each year.

Our new preprint shows more than half of #Klebsiella pneumoniae neonatal sepsis cases in African and South Asian are nosocomial, acquired through transmission in neonatal units. #WAAW

Why is the

only statistical difference in resistant BSI by sex
in the 15 to 44 age group
where resistance was higher in females
(21.4% vs 18.9%, 8.5 vs 5.5 per 100,000 population).....?

How will population shifts affect the future burden of #AMR? 👶👩‍🦳 🧫

We use a new modelling framework to explore future projections of #AMR by age and by sex, as well as interventions for control, building on our earlier findings that AMR isn’t uniform across demographics.

Been thinking about bedaquiline resistance in TB a lot lately... and today I was wondering about other mathematical models... so I went back to this figure that I still love from a few years ago showing how in #AMR #TB modelling showing most is just RR-TB - lots to be done!
