What percercentage of your money does your bank keep in RI? How much does it invest in our community? There's a big difference between local banks and the big national banks. Source: MightyDeposits.com

Or...hear me out here...take those $$$s and give them to a local community that is really struggling right now or an organization that serves others, or invest it into a local business or @investri.bsky.social. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/04/11/m...

There is something to be said about the circular economy here as well. Throwaway culture that feeds this sort of improper disposal is costing taxpayers. With prices expected to explode this year, we really should consider more “buy nothing” groups and growing more food at home.
In 2024, the City of East Providence had over 2 million pounds of rejected recyclable waste, all of which ended up being dumped in the landfill, costing East Providence taxpayers $91,264.92.

Rhode Island needs homes of all shapes and sizes to meet the needs of our neighbors. Using eminent domain to block housing development sets a dangerous precedent.

Great infill project here stitching Taunton Avenue back together. This is what the solution to the housing shortage looks like.
Ivy Place has been touted as “affordable housing done right.” We agree! The building incorporates dignified living spaces in the form of 9 townhouses and a mixed-use building that feels integrated in East Providence’s growing downtown on Taunton Avenue.

Dubious. An anemic business environment only benefits the largest corporations. We have to do a much better job improving our economy for small businesses and startups. We need to grow our own capital, there’s no way to sustain our services with it.

Great resource to follow for legislative actions come June. Many states like R.I. will shrink because we don’t build enough homes for people to stay here.

Let’s stop sending Florida our talent and wisdom and start building for everyone including the next generation of families.
Neighbors Welcome! RI is a grassroots network advocating for more homes in Rhode Island. A lack of supply drives up prices and pushes people out of their communities, + into homelessness. We advocate for common-sense policy changes to increase housing options for our friends, family and neighbors.

Great project, we’re happy to help the City of EP meet its affordable housing goals while stitching this neighborhood back together.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, the state’s central hub for financing infrastructure improvements for municipalities, businesses and homeowners has awarded the City of East Providence $480,188 in a Municipal Infrastructure grant.
