#A2Council, abundant housing & transportation
Didn't mean to imply anyone was mad. I get a little use from Venue. Open co-working is free, they have good coffee, its quiet enough for Zoom meetings, and it's a couple blocks from my house. It's also a nice event space. The Bike Summit has been there at least a few times.

I live nearby and miss Lucky's too. Venue is okay, not my fave but I'm not mad about it. 4M envisioned a tech hub: STRs on Henry, Southtown, coworking, restaurant/cafe, driverless taxis, etc. I liked that they had a low-carbon vision for my neighborhood. But I don't know what's going to happen now.

Or could it be that some City leaders genuinely believe in the project?

This project is ambitious and materially advances many of the City's most urgent goals.

I would vote no because I don't want TIF for parking decks. But I think it's a close call.

You have to be very cynical to believe this.

We are to believe a few thousand in contributions for a 4-year term influences CM decisions on a $300M bond? If they were corrupt they should have gotten way more.

This whole deal was put together by Administrator Dohoney. Does Nelson's theory account for his interest?

Thanks for explaining this!

My mortgage payment has been raised in most tax years to keep the escrow balance up. I've owned in A2 for 8 years.

A group is encouraging the City to stop banning more diverse types of homes to meet our needs better. We have a petition so that we can demonstrate there are more of us than there are of them. Please consider signing. It'll also keep you updated on ways to get involved. sign.moreneighborsa2.org

As someone who cycles and walks for transportation, not for recreation (although it is fun to commute by bike), this bridge does not appeal to me except as a novelty.

When the format doesn't fit your talk, you change the format! 🤣 Thanks for sharing about the Growing Michigan Together Council and the views of younger Michiganders related to transportation and housing!

So it sounds like we have to create an account in the payment portal. Maybe the State of Michigan will do the right thing to save me from this inconvenience.

My mom would send me with a dollar and a quarter when I was going to eat school lunch. I know nothing of these systems.

Are you saying they actually *can* bill us later, or that they should be able to, but don't?
October 1, 2025 at 3:17 PM
I was just thinking about whether I needed to create an account or whatever it takes. I would very much like to avoid that if possible!

I was very satisfied with AADL when I first started using it, but it just keeps getting better. 🚀

Update: I was told by a reliable source that there will be a bus bike rack at Bikeapalooza Saturday so everyone can practice!
September 19, 2025 at 2:08 PM
More Neighbors A2 volunteers put together a fact sheet directly addressing some of the foundational claims you are going to hear in that meeting. Hope this helps!

Their case is based on the premise that the City is lying to us. They don't want any experts to fact-check them.

Others have shared some good resources. If there's any appetite in-the-weeds policy and data analysis, I would link folks to the Housing Appendix to the CLUP.

You might suggest that your "non-HOA" also invite another "discussion" run by positive, energetic people who dream of a more inclusive Ann Arbor. We could probably put something together.

Why do businesses and municipalities feel they have to reinvent the bike rack? Please stop.
