The temperature anomaly through February 2025 was again more than 1.5°C vs 1903-1924 for the 20th consecutive month (starting July 2023). In my opinion, AMOC collapse has always been a red herring, like sea level rise before it. There are other far more immediate and existential consequences of climate change. Among them are heatwaves, fires, floods, storms, droughts, disease, ecosystem collapse and fascism.

An extreme #Arctic winter warming event is occurring bringing a narrow band of near freezing air temperatures close to the North Pole (associated with poleward movement of excessive heat and moisture).
