Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Thank you PM Carney for being our Prime Minister in these dangerous times.

We remember not to glorify war but to acknowledge and remember why we have to be ‘on guard’ to prevent war while honouring those who fought for what is right in the past.

This is good to see.
Kudos to all those who made the effort to show up.

Defending public education is one of the most important things we can do.
One of the largest rallies in Alberta's history.

We stand for public education.

Let us in. Hold ICE accountable. Tear down the fence.

This is what we are demanding from the Broadview ICE facility, and nothing less.

Our leaders can decide whether they stand with the people or with ICE. There is no middle ground.

For those of us 🇨🇦 who were miffed by Republicans complaint to Canada over wildfire smoke, this is a great response by Tod Maffin. (In case you missed it, see linked post for the original story.)
Canada’s forests burned, and somehow it’s America’s personal tragedy. Here’s our sarcastically sincere national apology.

This is an excellent article, and the word enshittification (or crapification) is also marvellous.

I hope 🇨🇦 Canadian readers will appreciate having Mark Carney as PM right now, and credit him for being smart enough to acknowledge and confront the reality so well described in this article. (1 of 4)

With it, we’ll break down more barriers to internal trade and build big things faster across the country.

Thanks to all the Members of Parliament and Senators — from all parties — who got this done, together.

9/ But there is no comparison anywhere on the left with MAGA's regular legitimization of violence in our politics. There is a straight line from Jan 6 to the pardons to the assault on Sen. Padilla to Minnesota.

A democracy cannot function when one faction embraces violence.

4/ And we cannot discount the impact of MAGA's fetishization of guns. MAGA celebrates the tools of mass shooters and assassins - assault rifles, machine guns, silencers and high capacity magazines. MAGA doesn't treat firearms with respect - it celebrates their killing power.

2/ For the last five years, MAGA has been bathed in political violence.

Most importantly, MAGA's celebration of January 6th and Trump's decision to pardon ALL the Jan 6 rioters - including the most violent - became a clear endorsement of violence committed in his name.

3/ But it didn't start with January 6th. Trump regularly threatened protesters at his rallies with violence. He cozied up to brutal dictators abroad who used violence to maintain political control.

There was no comparison in Democratic messaging.

The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.
