Does anyone know this Bacon citation?

I’m trying to stash some sources for the day I write the introduction of my dissertation and this would be a great addition.

This book is “Ecology and Theology of Nature,” edited by Hogan, Vila-Chã, and Orobator

It's possible that the 7 Marys in the New Testament and Miriam in the Old Testament were really called Mariam. I look at all these women and their names here.

Church-led campaigns against businesses for retreating from D.E.I. promises are a form of pastoral ministry for those who feel ignored or forgotten.

Paul is great because he’ll be like, “women need long hair because of THE ANGELS” and then he’ll pivot to, “OF COURSE YOU KNOW that Jesus followed Israel around as a walking water rock”. You just never really know where he’s going next, or why, and I love that for him and us.

The fourth scroll dated to the Early Hellenistic period in DJD is 4Q70 (4QJeremiah a). Dated variously to the late 3rd or early 2nd century BCE, this ms contains text from the first half of Jeremiah and good evidence of scribal corrections

We have a cover!!! The Oxford Handbook of Biblical Monsters is in production. We tried to put together articles that would foster a dialogue between traditional scholarship and more contemporary monster/horror. Now it's waiting, and preparing for the fun that will be proofing and indexing.

I’m excited to add Holtz’s article to my bibliography! What fantastic work, gazing into the lives of Judean exiles and clarifying the promise of Isaiah’s prophecy.
I had the good fortune to sit down with Shalom E Holtz today to discuss his article “The Problems of Land Possession and the Meaning of Isaiah 60:21.” The episode will be available for free in February, but you can hear it early for $5/month at www.patreon.com/ItMeansWhatI...

When I translatied Gen 12 with my Hebrew class last spring, Sarai’s story struck me.

And sadly, hers is a story we hear too often: men prosper on account of the women they’ve hurt, tucked neatly away, and silenced.

The Hebrew portrays this dynamic so vividly!

I’ve found myself captivated with the new production of Interview with the Vampire.

Beautifully shot, an arresting look at the realities of abuse and racism, and a stinging critique of the ultra-wealthy through the guise of vampirism.

I need season 2 immediately.

People often wonder what we can do about Church decline. Have we tried not having and then covering up rampant sex abuse cases amongst our clergy?

Ps 104 is breathtaking, but one of my favorite things about it is that the psalmist speaks of the interior life of animals and nature the way we’d speak of human interior life!

If you read these verses outside of context, you’d think the psalm was about humanity!
