I loved reading Toms story. I think it shows that no matter how many times you have to restart don’t give up. I will consider this when working in the future to be more considerate on what others may be struggling with.

A barrier I can relate to is relative cheapness of unhealthy foods. When going food shopping at stop and shop I can see how much more it costs to buy meats, fruits and vegetables compared to buying frozen foods. It’s more convient to buy cheaper food when trying to save.

I tracked my food intake for the last 24 hours and it was easy using a calorie tracker app but I don’t think it was accurate because I wasn’t too sure of the portion sizes. One thing that surprised me was all the empty calories I was eating and how fast calories add up.

I can relate to this bc I lose motivation when starting new diets. I think a lot of people start the new year strong and lose motivation quickly. The fad diets we see online are unsustainable long term and it’s easy to give up when you don’t see results right away.
#beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
2 in 5 diets "fail" in the first 7 days.
But this isn't us failing.
It's the diets that fail us.

Highly restrictive diets aren't sustainable because of biology and life. Quitting a diet isn't a personal or moral failing. It's not that you just lack willpower, it's that the system sucks.
