Sustainability, Conformity Assessment, Renewable Energies, ESG are my main thing but supporting others with climate change (Kirklees Climate Commission) is another. Love photography and sub-aqua.

Why read books? Because there's a book for EVERYONE out there. And once you find the right book - reading will change your life forever! #literacy

This has taken its time coming! We proposed this in 2004 for the introduction of the Part L Building Regulations. While they were more expensive then it would have driven down cost quicker and developers wanted level playing field. Why wait for 2027? www.edie.net/solar-mandat...

The UK Government is reportedly set to finalise rules mandating that up to 99% of new-build homes are fitted with rooftop solar panels from 2027.

Well, that is a beautiful end to the week. Earlier today, I posted about some reassuring and comforting lines in Elif Shafak's brilliant book "There are Rivers in the Sky". Then I got to the end & found she found my book Blue Machine helpful for research. Books are awesome.

I love this, from Elif Shafak, & it's what I need to hear at the moment:
"When times are confusing, everybody is a little lost. No-one is as inwardly confident as they present themselves to be. Hence the reason we must read, my boy. Books. like paper lanterns, provide us with a light amidst the fog"

@alexverbeek.bsky.social I are heading over to the Netherlands next week for a few days in Amsterdam before driving over to Berlin and then back via Rotterdam. Haven’t been to Amsterdam for probably 50years. Any thought on where to go that is great but not in the guide books? Nice to say hi f2f.

@bbclooknorth.bsky.social your article on heat pumps and Greener Living going bust didn’t mention the Warranty Back Scheme that should cover the installation if the work was carried out through the government scheme!

This is powerful, I come from a similar historical background and could feel every word vibrant in my body reading it.
I am the great-grandson of a man who led his family out of the shtetl to a strange land in search of a better life. I am the grandson of the three-year-old boy on that journey. As you know, my name is Marc, but my Hebrew name is Elhanan—after the warrior in David’s army who slew a powerful giant.

Has anyone considered what Putin/Trump discussions on Ukraine were really about? Would be really interesting to hear what was actually said in phone call! US Wheat and other agri products, Russian? Share and control the world?

As for climate mitigation and adaptation? I feel disillusioned

@helenczerski.bsky.social had you written #BlueMachine when I was 14/15 it may have driven me on to my dream job working on mini-subs for ocean research. But I got diverted by other things and a lack of educational prowess, which I could/should have over come! Hope to meet you one day and thanks!

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

@gjuk.bsky.social I was really surprised by this👇What am I missing?
@octoverse.bsky.social can you explain why I have paid a 30% uplift on the cost of a charge compared to using a credit card? I thought this was meant to be cheaper! I could have used the credit card but decided to use the card for discount. This is first time I have used it. Shall I cancel the card?

Does this make any sense for EV tax. If the same size car has an ICE or a battery and travels the same mileage.

The fossil fuel car will be cheaper but likely produce more harmful emissions. Especially for those that generate their own electricity.
