If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

He took complete ownership of the shutdown when he, instead of leading the effort to use creative finances to continue SNAP, decided to cry to his supreme court (emphasis His) to stop that from happening. Whatever lingering doubt about who owns this was erased by that action. He is leaning into it.
Not to trivialize or gamify the real pain and cruelty from the shutdown, but democrats are absolutely winning the issue and are being handed unforced errors by Trump intervening to stop SNAP payments. What the hell are they thinking to cave now?
