For a long time I felt that the FGC was doing a good job of incorporating esports in our own way without losing too much of ourselves. But in more recent years, well, you see the news today. A major chunk of FGC esports has in significant ways become something else for someone else

I'll keep saying this, I know people will blame Rapey McFootball and the funny DJ guy for the game flopping, but the price being ABSOLUTELY FUCKED in Mexico and LATAM KILLED any chances this had of being a hit.

I will say there is a certain irony that SF3, the game famous for sidelining most of the previous franchise characters for newcomers, is the one where people get most upset if its characters aren't all brought back in every later installment.

No they don't, they need communities, and everything about this ad campaign was just insulting to the community.

It's fun how most game history regarding Sega focuses solely on Sega's console failures as the only reason they had financial problems and went third-party in the home console market, which is only like partially true.
