I wasn't even that into the show, but I liked it, and it's disappointing to see something you enjoy kind of collapse into a puddle and flow away. dog-willing Netflix lets it be over forever and moves on to greener pastures.

But it *is* over, and the ending was heartwarming. I remember the hype around season 4, and Kate Bush, and summer of 2022, and talking about it with my peers then, and I'm nostalgic for it. There was none of that this time (my friends have changed, but there was Internet hype too and S5 had ~0)

and on that note, I don't usually go for dubs. if the service a show is on offers the dub, I'll at least check it out, and I've watched a few great dubs (Aniplex-distributed shows in particular tends to have dubs with good performances, for some reason). otherwise I watch subbed and it's great

to be clear, I don't like this fact, and I'm also aware that I might be bad at distinguishing human from machine in the first place. I guess this is one more reason to keep working on my 日本語: who cares if the dub is AI if you've got the chutzpah to watch the original audio, no subs

anyway I'm done with Raildex until season 4 of Railgun comes out. I just bought 2 seasons of it on bluray (used) which is likely a mistake...the Funimation subtitles translate Kuroko's vaguely ironic お姉さま as "Sissy" which is almost unwatchable, so if I want to watch what I own, I have to suffer

still can't get over the artstyle stuff though. it was made at the same studio, contemporary to the other shows...maybe cost savings.
