watching Divergence Eve because it's animated by Radix who animated Haibane Renmei (which was really good) and it's basically "xenosaga(ish) but with bonkers character design"

I suspected the issue was a stuck bit on one of the red pins, and I was basically right: the R0 pin wasn't soldered down well and the R1 pin might also have been poorly anchored. With this fixed I can display other colors, and images! (well, once I fixed the pixel ordering in formatter code)

The revision 2 Sharpie boards work! (see my website) Something's wrong with the signal timing so it can only correctly show colors that have red in them (for now just red, yellow, purple, and white). It looks a lot better in person, much more striking, but the viewing angles are pretty limited.

Pebble has the same screen (memory LCD) as a project I'm working on and it's way higher contrast than I thought it would be (I haven't gotten my displays to work yet)
