I am starting to realize that a country will soon block all short form videos from social media within its borders to prevent mental harm to children.

This is after several papers outlining how it affects the brains of people, leading to impairment of some analytical functions and attention span.

Well THAT is interesting. If you search in Google with a phone number to judge the legitimacy of a business you will have a number of links to web sites that delay giving you information or charge for search results.

Switch to the ai-mode for search and it tells you who exactly it is and the area.

Every time I try to do something incredibly simple in Outlook I am reminded of it’s just how much of a hot garbage mess this application is.

When I owned a surface tablet I went through three keyboards. Mostly it was the frustration of having to wake up the touchpad to actually get the cursor to move, and I hated the fact it was a Bluetooth device with a physical connection (why?!?)

As it is I may have to go into school today to get anything done. I may have to “accidentally” hit the gym as well. Shucks.

On Facebook yesterday I pondered the new role of camera bags as collectors of stuff.

This was a reaction to seeing old cameras in thrift stores, and what used to be carried. The body, a lens and film. Sometimes a manual.

Compare that to modern systems…

… I have been trying to rewrite a section of a paper by adding details that align with broader research goals and concerns.

Trying to fit a round peg in a square hole by adding stuff around the edges.

It’s becoming cumbersome.

The section has short stories tied together by a theme.

An additional challenge for the treated water is that it is too clean for the environment.

It has no minerals or microbes that would be associated with river water. It would dilute what is naturally there. Too clean is bad for the environment. Ironic, isn’t it?

I still think legislating responses from employers you apply to is required.

Too often I hear people brag-complain about the number of resumes like it’s a score in a game.

Too often I hear about people who never get at response.

I pointed out something the other day to someone fixating on an expensive camera:

“Almost none of the greats in photography would have used pro gear. Most were normal cameras in the hands of masters. If you aren’t a master at photography, get a cheaper camera and practice A LOT.”

Why does this remind me of the iPod sock? The price is a whole lot more though. From $25 for six to $120 for one.
