I’m doing a phd in social anthropology because I am a (nosy) artist who tells stories…
So one has to wonder why the people building the future limit their own kids access to it.

Denmark is going to limit social media use for children. I suspect dumb phones will become a requirement soon as well.

Many tech leaders send their kids to schools without computers (gates, jobs and I think Zuckerberg)

It’s like some employees have no sense of customer service…

(It turned out that the company I called was not aware an employee was using their phone line for a survey unrelated to their business…)

They left me with fifteen seconds of silence until I said “hello, what are you calling about” and THEN they answered in an angry tone.z

At least for that one I was able to locate the business and give a manager an earful but seriously WTF?!?

What I really REALLY hate is when companies have their numbers set to speed dials and then a robo voice says please wait for someone to pick up.

Or someone fails to introduce themselves. I had someone actually get irate when I picked up… like, seriously… YOU called ME.

Ai-mode will also inform you of previous reports for phone numbers, such as people reporting it for spam.

I generally block callers whom I do not recognize and who do not leave messages.

While it would be nice to stop spoofing the problem is it is useful for legitimate companies.

…did the bridge consent, and did the bridge enjoy it?

But I would never, ever buy another of those flimsy cloth covered keyboards s long as I live. Such a pain.

I broke two because they made me so angry… no other computer or laptop that I owned ever made me so angry as that device. The computer was nice, but that keyboard was so aggravating.

My niece has it now. I think it would be almost 8 years old and it works fine for her needs. I outgrew it.

Jealousy no doubt… “how dare you accomplish something I came be bothered to try doing… the NERVE!”

Leave the house with only the camera, a single lens and card. Leave the other stuff at home and see what you capture with only this minimal setup.

Use a smaller bag or other usual container you have (I use my backpack) go out and take pictures.

It’s a personal challlenge for the day…

Modern bags are cloth, and judging from the number I have seen emptied at thrift stores, they were bought with the camera and were disposed of with the camera.

Kind of like the dreams of becoming a photographer.

So here is an invitation, of sorts, if you have a large system of gear.

Next time you go out with multiple lenses, ask yourself when the last time you changed lenses in the field. For the majority, probably a long time ago.

And what kind of bags do people get? The older ones I see are mostly leather (pre 50s) and sometimes vinyl (60s to 70s)

The empty large bags go in a closet, wrapped in a plastic garbage bag so they don’t end up in a thrift store.

This also lets me know what gear I have, and where it is.

But now I need a smaller bag, preferably a leather case for the camera itself, the kind I found in older cameras.

Nowadays I empty my bag between outings. Stuff goes in a plastic container and I pull bits out for certain tasks, stocking a larger bag for trips with what I think I need.

Camera, lens of choice, extra battery and a single large card.

That’s the usual EDC for a stroll.
