@charlieangus.substack.com.web.brid.gy was in Kingston last night. About 200 of us turned up, many about my age. One highlight was a 17 year-old, an NDP organizer (who brought his own 14-year old videographer). He spoke with real passion about his commitment to the resistance.

My 🇨🇦 sister’s friend got pulled over crossing 🇺🇸 border. They didn’t like his trip to Cuba 3 years ago in passport. Finger printed him. Grilled him. Told him he can never return to 🇺🇸. He was lucky to be able to return here 🇨🇦. Government needs stronger travel advisory now!

Hey Canada, when you read a Postmedia newspaper like the National Post or the Toronto Sun, you are reading the views of American billionaires, not ordinary Canadians. Boycott Postmedia.

Yes.

Lets see cross-provincial wines on Ontario shelves. Take up the space left where US products used to be.

Stop delaying, get 'er done.

This is a shocking read. But we deserve to be shocked, those of us who were ignorant. We should have known.

I must be tired, but this hit a nerve and I found myself quietly crying as I watched. I’m not overly patriotic, but it is good to celebrate good things, especially when they are under attack.
🇨🇦This is spectacularly and chillingly beautiful. If you are #Canadian, watch this and your heart will fill with warmth and pride.
If you are not #Canadian, watch and know us better🇨🇦

So anyway, the idea that Canadians would peacefully welcome annexation or union with the US is a pure fantasy, one that exists only in febrile minds.

But the damage that's being done to relationships, to trust, and to US business interests in Canada, is real.

Do Americans understand this?

Yesterday's walk in Kinsale on the Irish Coast. We ended up in the welcome and warmth of the The Flying Poet, a local cafe featuring walls of books with an aviation theme, coffee to write home about, and comfort to settle in to.
