My outlet for my complaints about living in Germany
Keep in mind before moving here, immigrants are very much not considered part of Germany society, but you should be grateful to live among them:

Saw this today, walking around in public like it’s no big deal. It’s “1933” in case it’s not super clear.

If you’re from the US it’s hard to comprehend all off the small ways that Americans are way more accommodating of people from other cultures in comparison to Europeans.

Dems are very definitely serving a buffet of very unpopular food, we can just look at polling on issues. In immigration a huge majority of Democrats thought the border was a major issue by Jan 2024, and all Biden did was one executive order six months later and try one bill, clearly just symbolic.

Yeah, it’s interesting. If you look at the data beef prices started taking off literally the month Trump took office, and are steeper than any non-Covid time.

New law in Berlin well allows police to search anyone on subway at any time without any reason.

I dunno how it happened but my favorite Haribo candy has somehow become this trash that’s liquorice mixed with random flavors like coconut and chocolate.

Germans encountering a self checkout machine.

Saw this at a restaurant today. It’s a nice change and totally necessary since Germans like to do this thing where they stay after their meal at a busy restaurant for two hours smoking cigarettes and not ordering anything.

One thing that’s hard to grasp until you’ve lived in Europe for a while is that European cultures, unlike the U.S., have no element of incorporating foreigners or outsiders as part of their social fabric.

Maybe the instructor thinks racist jokes are an important part of integrating??

This “Dubai” chocolate is ridiculously expensive.

~25 people with one checkout open, add a grocery store on Monday at 9:30 AM. This is the day after all grocery stores are closed, so they know it will be busy.

“Not my problem” is one of Germany’s most sacred mantras:

Remember that package I was complaining about from before? It arrived. It took 7 days to arrive from somewhere that I can walk to in 16 hours (drive in 1 hour), according to Google maps.

It’s crazy how irritated restaurant workers get when you give them business.

-Ordered simple fountain pen Jan 7
-Amazon gets package to <home city> Jan 8
-Hands over to Deutsche Post
-3 days later, still in the nether world of Deutsche Post with -projected arrival on the 14 (according to Amazon). Deutsche post needs six days to get somewhere that I can walk in an afternoon.

Worth considering before you move here: Germany is basically the least friendly country on the planet.

First elevator I see back in Germany, in a 6 floor medical center no less.

Might as well just put signs to alert elevators are actually working.
