Ere we go. I’ve finally finished cleaning and dusting the back wall of my office 🫶🏻

My Lego wall 😇

A wall about three metres, nine or ten feet wide with a large desk spanning most of the wall and four large shelves mounted on said wall. On the slightly smaller shelves on the left are the McLaren formula one car, the huge 60cm one and below it is the Lamborghini Sian of the same size. Optimus Prime shares the shelf with the Sian in robot form, hands on hips. On the big shelf top right is the magnificent titanic, which is maybe five feet long. Below that is all the space stuff. There’s the international space station, the mars rover, the Apollo lunar lander Eagle, and the space shuttle complete with Hubble space telescope. To the right, and about three feet tall sticking up from the surface of the desk is the NASA SPS Artemis rocket and tower. To the left, a full metre tall, is the Saturn five rocket. Along side the rocket on the desk top is a large mobile crane truck thing , a bunch of pretty Lego flowers in a glass blue jar, some Lego space art and a Lego technics turntable.

We’ve had a bit of a move around since we’re a house down (RIP TeenyFing 🌈🐹).

The gerbils used to be at the far end of the sofa and come and go as they please with the door open - out to play and back when they’re tired. Now we’ve moved them they have a GIANT CHOOOB and they’re using it! 🙌🏻

Two large rodent homes can be seen on the left, one on top of the other on a very large free standing shelving unit. The gerbils are in the four foot house on the top deck. The front door can be seen open with a large black flexible tube, about eight inches in diameter and usually used for exhausting air from a dryer or something, going from deep inside their home across the lounge onto the near side of the couch. There’s probably eight feet of tube they need to traverse. The gerbils have quickly learned to climb through the tube onto the couch for an explore and to play SCAPEY SCAPEY, their favourite game.

Oh yeah, I also LOVE the plants! That was such a savvy move by Lego. I’ve slowly replaced dying plants throughout the house with Lego flowers 🥰
A windowsill half way up the stairs is covered end to end with Lego flowers and plants. There are a bunch of small cacti and succulents, some pretty plants in Lego vases and bunches of flowers in real ceramic vases. One of the vases is a large black ceramic set of boobs, which is nice

Yeah the titanic was a massive indulgence 🫶🏻 Glad I bought it tho. I have quite a few large sets on display. My recent favourite is the Endurance; Shackleton’s ship which is in the dining room. I’ll take a picture of my office display when I’ve finished cleaning and put everything back 👍🏻

It’s always so scary cleaning Lego, but this seems like an excessive amount of dust to gather in between cycles 🤦🏻

A vintage French toy called a Toot Toot sheep. It’s around 14cm long, and shaped like a lamb with a slightly cartoonish face. It is cream coloured with little blue stains, very faint, giving accents across the body. It has a mottled almost gold ball surface texture to emulate wool. It is made of soft rubber so probably very tactile.

Erik and Harald are out to play. For those of you who’ve never seen a baby Duprasi Gerbil, well this is them 😁

We are looking into the wonderful home of Erik and Harald. They are still very small, mouse sized and have grey blonde hair with white bellies, little pink pointy noses and round pink ears. They are as if a dwarf hamster had a baby with a gerbil. The enclosure they are in looks very natural. Behind them we can see a live edge hollow log to hide in. The floor is covered in natural substrate, mostly hemp and cedar wood, but with bits of soil they have kicked around from their diggy patch. Throughout the enclosure are natural grasses and wheat stalks, still with green ears attached, giving a splash of colour and more things to play with. They both look extremely cute!

Aaaaaand there it is. The face of a stone cold killer. Even at seven weeks old and as cute as he and his brother are, little Erik already knows how to stare down and instil fear in the enemy.

A close up of Erik’s face. As a Duprasi gerbil, he has a triangular face, a little more like a fox or a womble than a normal Mongolian gerbil. Most importantly though, he has slightly forward facing eyes. We think this if for hunting bugs in the wild. Donate famous for staring you down and you’re never quite sure if the look is one of adoration or they’re wondering which vein to open when they attack.

Two tiny little Duprasi Gerbils sit huddled together in the corner of their travel home. They are grey in colour and maybe 6cm long in the body, about 2 inches or so. They have pointy faces and slightly forward facing eyes, giving them a look between ultimate cuteness and predator.
