I study the use of satellite and drone data for monitoring land cover and semi-natural ecosystems. I work for a government institute so I am mainly working at the science-policy interface. I like to read and post about ecology, environmental policy and earth observation.

Nearly half of the world’s habitable land is used for agriculture.

Yes, we can empower conservation practitioners with remote sensing products! But for this to be successful, we need real and long-term cooperations between conservation experts and remote sensing experts. In Dutch we call this kruisbestuiving, cross-pollination, for fruitful cooperation #BIOSPACE25
