PA, roadie and logistics manager to my two teenage musicians as (an unpaid) side hustle. Licenced chaperone for children in entertainment and co-founder of an inclusive theatre group.
Our last outing this festival is to see NGSOC's production of Pirates of Penzance. Excellent production with lots of energy.

My mum's cat. A rescue whose original owner was a young, single man. No guesses as to why she made a beeline for the takeaway pizzas, although her favourite is definitely KFC. Not that she's fed takeaway now she lives with mum.

Final conservatoire open day before applications in July. Feel like I've been on a grand tour of Great Britain. I will say that this place is definitely my favourite, but I'm not the one applying.

In Glasgow for the RCS open day tomorrow. Another chance for a cheeky trip to the theatre, this time to see @scottishopera.bsky.social excellent production of Trial by Jury directed by John Savournin. Wow! The setting and energy was immense and gives hope that G&S has a strong future.

In London for the RCM open day tomorrow. The boy and I had a cheeky visit to our favourite second hand music bookshop. It would have been rude not to. You can never have too many music books 😉

So it's far easier to target the most vulnerable in society raising £4.8bn than close the Non-Dom tax loopholes and combat tax avoidance, and raise over £5bn? (Figures from Labour's 2024 election manifesto)

Watching @operanorth.co.uk The Flying Dutchman at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. Excellent singing all round 👏

A total contrast to this afternoon's Pirates of Penzance, a concert conducted by one of Karl's favourite choral composers. Eric Whitacre conducting the BBC Singers performing his work The Sacred Veil.

When you deliberately book the seats where the surtitles aren't visible, so your kids won't sing along, then realise it was pointless as your kids know it off by heart anyway! #ENO #Pirates

Especially for Superb Owl Sunday a picture of two of my favourite old birds. My very good friend Sal holding Lizzie the Milky Owl. For reference, Sal is autistic and Lizzie very definitely has ADHD.
