My take on this: the battle is won, but the war is not.

There will ALWAYS be more to do to defeat the far right.

Never get complacent about that fact.

Turn out to vote in ALL elections. EVERY time.

Keep the fight going between elections too, online and in person.

Going where the Tories feared to tread...
Labour’s 1.5m homes will be dominated by private equity firms charging huge rents.

Profiteering, high debt, substandard service, tax dodges are private equity norm.

Let councils, not-for-profit organizations build homes.

Don't deregulate. Build homes, not slums.

I'm glad that liberal centrists are finally waking up to the direction of travel society has been heading in for decades. It's shame it didn't happen a few years back when when the left were screaming about the danger and we still could have stopped the unfolding horror we're seeing now.

Or even better: UK should dump the meaningless fiscal rules in favour of one rule prioritising employment, with the other eye on inflation.
If the EU is going to make its (arbitrary) fiscal rules more flexible to enable more defence spending without cuts, then the UK can and should do the same to its (over-restrictive) fiscal rules.

If the EU somehow buys more from the US, it just means other buyers shift from buying US production to buying from whoever lost sales to the EU.

The Scottish Government's Permanent Secretary, JP Marks, is leaving to lead HMRC.
He's looking forward to raising the revenue needed to fund government spending. 🙄
I don't suppose there's any hope of finding a replacement who understands that UK Govt spending comes first, then the revenue returns.

Is NO place for profiteering...
If you hear someone say that there’s no problem with private companies taking on NHS services, just think for a moment about what a private company prioritises.

We need NHS services to prioritise patient care above everything. What do private companies prioritise?

Making our own decisions.
What comes next?
How do we put our decisions into action ie how do we pay for them?
Next, do we have maximum control or are we handing control to other states or bodies by using their currency?Independence and our own currency go hand in hand

I don't know what is worse:

- that 27 people wrote a letter to defend Baroness Meyer for twice calling Lord Dholakia "Lord Poppadom"

- or that we have no way to attempt removal of her from the Lords - the recommended 3 week suspension would be enough to trigger a recall petition in the Commons.
