I mostly talk about programming, usually FP, sometimes design, and a lot more rarely about music and games. I would love that order to be different but such is life.

So many people are self sabotaging by deskilling via this nonsense right now. Want an edge in 2027? Don’t build reliance on bad tools into your process in 2025.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

After working with Elm for so many years, its kinda funny when I realise my normal is the exception for most people...

These days, even when working with different langs (Gleam, Elixir, TS, Odin), I always architecture things in a way this _mostly_ remains true (but not really).

one thing that blew my mind about working in Lean (and is still blowing my mind) is that “variables” (really, let bindings) and “function calls” are all infinitely unfoldable. i can just replace each variable with its definition, each function with its body, any no of levels deep, during a proof.

I often want to write about functional programming and what it's really about, but I can never write something better than what @krisajenkins.bsky.social wrote in his "What is functional programming?".

This thread does an amazing job at exemplifying how LLMs will create a poor generation of students (and thinkers)
This past semester was the most stressful of my academic career. I had 180 students and about half cheated at some point in the semester

They submit weekly reflections where the questions are opinion-based, graded only on effort, don't care about grammar

SO MANY students submitted ChatGPT essays
I talked to 15 teachers/professors about how AI and ChatGPT is ruining their lives:

I never related to a work+passion+burnout talk as much as I did to @freya.bsky.social here.

"here I'm sitting having turned all of my hobbies into work"

"this _is_ what I love doing so I shouldn't be stressed by it, right?"

Thanks for sharing that.

I've seen some people recommending Hackernoon as the best place to post your content these days.

"Oh nice! Don't know this one - let me check it out."

For real folks - how is this acceptable? People should be AFRAID of anything looking like this.

Já gravamos com Georges Boris (Uncover), com José Valim (Dashbit) e nesta segunda gravamos com Ana Dubas e Thiago Zattar (MeetRox)

I'm kinda addicted to talks and interviews.

A pattern I've noticed tied to highly self-centered "thought leaders" is saying something absolutely debatable and following with "it's an obvious thing that nobody is thinking of" (except them).

Its the "well, actually..." of monologues.

Please don't.

Felt his departure deeply today.

Not many of us creatively thinking and expressing the "subtle" these days.

No market focus, no mysticism bs - just pure feeling and intuition expressed through art.

Nice starter for people interested in Elm-like langs! 😁

In the past I thought a lot about what trait is common in these folks and I think we're all just careful builders who value simplicity and kindness.

Elm and FP are just nice tools to express and achieve this simplicity.

As a designer that mostly worked for web over the last ~15y, I fucking love game UI design so much.

Why is web so much worse?? Games have this attention to small details, they're not afraid to innovate while still being intuitive.

Animations, spaciality, playfulness - ppl should be taking notes.

Hey frontend developers,

I would love to know what is the first thing you reach for when first thinking about how to implement a new feature and what framework/language you use! Do you think about markup? Components? State? Data structures?

Please RT for reach, I have no friends 😅
