Now tell me again how much it's okay that English Lit has collapsed at A-Level and in our universities.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Dead ahead: years of snobbery, misogyny and hatred about a northern single mum from a council house. So that's not worth looking forward to either.

If UK news shows are going to give Nigel Farage a platform to spout this absolute boll**** about Brexit & the vaccine rollout (unchallenged) I’ll happily come back every week to correct it.

We cannot allow him & others to rewrite history.

Or ... or you'll ... shoot the babies?

DHS I don't know if you were all absent on training day but you can't shoot babies even if you don't like their parents. There is nothing that can be happening with a baby that makes it ok to shoot babies.

This exposes the most likely calamity ahead: that at the v moment the UK population turns completely against Brexit and starts to demand its reversal, a Reform UK govt is elected and tears it all up. Could poison politics for decades.

LG: Are you saying Brexit has been good for business?
MV: It's created opportunities.

Only 11% of the UK population tell YouGov they think Brexit has been a success. Farage comes to power and tears up the Brexit deal, the Windsor Framework and the UK's membership of the ECHR. Not sustainable in any way.

Yes, I noticed that in the Philp interview. Pathetic. And the irony is that those to whom he seeks to appeal with such 'tough talk' have already written the Conservatives off, whilst those centrist Tories who might be won back will be repelled. So it's the entire Tory cul-de-sac in microcosm.

He is a British citizen. To strip him of it because of some admittedly disgusting tweets is unlawful.
This shouldn't be questioned just like that.
I'm certainly not defending the Abd el-Fattah tweets but I really can't stomach the outrage about them from those who also insisted that Lucy Connelly was a heroic martyr for free speech and were equally outraged by her punishment.
