Wildlife encounters on my walk today at the Pacific Geoscience Center. Many seals on a dock. A blue heron and a kingfisher on a breakwater, and a seal frolicking at the end of the big dock. What a great place to work!

So on Remembrance Day remembering some of the original anti-fascists. My dad was in the navy for 25 years starting in WWII based in the Atlantic including the Caribbean and down to South America. Uncle Walt was in the army and saw active duty in the Netherlands. Miss em both!

Went for a great hike. Tides really high all day so did a trail walk between Fords cove and Shinglespit. We are all quite a bit older!!

On Hornby and reconnected with friends from my teenage years, Geoff, Steve and Doug. We met through working at McDonalds! I made a nice prime rib roast with Yorkshire puddings!!

But of a rough ride to get to Hornby today! Had to go into the wind towards Fords cove and then cut hard once we were in a bit of the lee of the island. Quite the rocking and rolling for a while

This video does not do this murmuration justice. It was amazing! With the light turning the birds from light to dark. At the Tsawwassen ferry terminal . So I assume these are the migrating snow geese? If it is snow geese do you still call it a murmuration?

Now they picked our car to beg as Nicole is eating something . Shoed it away cause I didn’t want it pooping on my car. So it pooped on the car in front of us!

First part of my sabbatical is at the Pacific Geoscience Centre in Sidney, BC. Not only is there great people here but it is right on the water with many arbutus trees!

Our Sheltie is getting old, 14 now!And he doesn’t walk as far. Who knew he would fit so well in the bottom of a baby carriage ! And he actually was fine with it.

At the Salish Sea aquarium in Sydney, BC. Lots of great stuff. Cool Jellyfish. Good thing I am not on acid. Probably would make it to the other displays, just watch this all day.
