Poet and curmudgeon with daft hair. Published by Flapjack Press. Former host/founder of Spoken Weird. Epileptic. Neurodivergent. Only likes three bands.
I've had a lot of job interviews in my time, and I'm gutted that I've never said this in response to "how would you describe yourself in three words?"

Is it just me who thinks this looks like a threat? Chill out, Gordon.

Any excuse to share my shit Manics joke from 2018. I was on a train to Ware, I couldn't resist.

Answering absolutely every "name a song" question with "Spaceman by Babylon Zoo" has been my favourite online hobby for years.

It's been 13 years since that bloody song came out, yet every time I hear Stephen Mangan's name I have to sing it to the tune of Gangnam Style. Send help.

I was curious as to whether any photos of Spoken Weird, my poetry night that ran from 2013-2021, were on Google. Found out that we shared a name with an album by somebody called *drum roll* TYRANTS IN THERAPY. 😄

How your email finds me.

Firstly, yikes. Secondly, can you imagine a world where everyone answered questions like he does? "Sir, are you aware that this is a 20mph zone?" "How would you define the word 'aware'?"
This is genuinely so bad, he can’t even answer basic questions from budding teen atheists lmfao. It’s like that scene in game of thrones when all the children ganged up and stabbed grand maester pycelle to death

Excellent article, just the right balance of rage and hope, I've had trouble feeling the latter.

Hey girl, are you a bad typo in an important email? Because I didn't notice you at first but now I can't stop thinking about you

Urgh. Sorry, Requiem for a Dream, you're now the second most depressing thing I've clapped eyes on.
I can't imagine looking at this and feeling anything other than nausea and despair. It's an ad for voluntarily surrendering your humanity in exchange for a low-intensity jerkoff machine.

Today's t-shirt. Got this absolute beauty for my 40th. Shame I'm not doing something more rock n' roll than feeding the ducks. #bandtshirt #manicstreetpreachers

I didn't really check the news yesterday, because my kitchen ceiling caved in. Looks like this is what I missed, whoop-dee-f'n-doo.

One thing I'm not missing during my time off from FB: the utterly unhinged comments section of my local paper. "Roadworks? Potholes? Rain? That'll be the [insert minority here]!"

The story about Jim Morrison's grave bust being found by accident is the only news story that's made me smile in ages. And EVEN BETTER THAN THAT, the lady who did the Wonky Jesus is still alive, which means it may get the restoration it so sorely needs.

Since I'm new here: these are my two collections from Flapjack Press. Identity, music, infatuation, death, Brexit, lockdown, pregnancy, mental health, not necessarily in that order.

Been on this app for four hours, haven't seen a single A.I. pic of a sand sculpture of Jesus high-fiving Trump on a hoverboard. Nice. Think I'll stay.

Yeah, I set up an account months after everybody else because I'm astoundingly uncool. I also didn't read The Handmaid's Tale until 2014 or hear one Lady Gaga song until 2010. I'd call it "fashionably late" but I've never been in fashion. Go on then, let's see what's so great about this place.
