Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Seeing Lycaon and Soldier 11 be recast like this breaks my heart and boils my piss.

I was replaced as Soldier 11 because I am unwilling to perform work not covered by a SAG Interim Agreement during a strike for AI protection, the outcome of which will determine the future of our industry.

the problem with gen AI characters just from purely a game design & player experience standpoint is that the characters are unmemorable and boring, there's no way to feel clever when talking to them, and even if you roleplay when talking to them they won't remember or react to that meaningfully

It's maybe silly but watching Twitter become extremely hostile to artists makes me sad. I found so many artists to commission and follow on there. So much cool art will be lost... Still better that than it being used as fuel for AI slop.

I have been playing a lot of Baldur's Gate 3 and I just got the Crash Landing trophy. I'm amused that my ranger's bear got the last hit. Bear > dragon.

Visiting my parents and they were telling me about a show they enjoyed on Netflix. It's One Piece. My elderly parents loved One Piece and it makes me so happy. I haven't even seen it yet and my mom was telling me how she can't wait for season 2.
