Found this banded obsidian today in Waihi (New Zealand) in a stream bed. I then promptly got into a fight with a blackberry bramble and lost. Literal blood sweat and tears will go into making these jewels.

One of the great things about having my own 3d printer is i can test print out half-baked designs to help me progress its development. I like the scale of this piece, but the composition isn't landing for me. Back to the drawing board.

It definitely seems to be the case, as the overall design is a known 'thing' in its essence, an oval stone in a basket setting, it's repeated over and over again all the time. I've made basket settings pretty much every week during peak engagement season.
