Currently on therapeutic leave.

Be good to everyone. This world is too much.

He/him/his. Contemnit procellas.
I'll be fine if you all promise to take care too.

Have a good September.

if I'm not around here a whole lot for a while it's because I'm trying to manage my tendency to be bewildered and disgusted. I need a break from a lot of this, especially as I start down a terrifying semester. Call it self-care but minus the scented candles and gratuitous affirmations and all that.

One of the few memorable times I came close to getting tagged on my bicycle was some goon in a Toyota Highlander with NJ plates going across one of the Central Park traverses, who of course sneered at me to watch out.

Highlanders are another issue with me, but that’s not the city.

Intentional, then?

Wasn’t sure where to read it as home town (a complex issue for me but “colleges, gorges” works at the most fundamental level) or current residence.

But it’s not an I-hate-America criticism. He (and the great majority of us here) very clearly loves this country and its people and cares about it, but knows we have massive work to do and rails against a continuing history of injustice.

Modern progressive patriotism.

Pizza, not Italianate quiche. (Which is glorious for what it is, but…)

Hey:

- yes, there will be years that suck and feel like losses. they’re still important.

- separate what you can control from out of reach insanity.

- thirty is about where it started to come together over here, but there was still work to do. quit fussing over arbitrary numbers.

- keep going.

Wishful thinking x casino mentality.

They’re steaming it already so wrap it in a banana leaf with some ginger and scallions. Or some black pepper and thyme. Tons of zero-impact to beneficial options.

Wasn’t it like three pounds of fish a day?

Edelbrock does a supercharger kit for the first-gen cars that clears up every qualm I had about it. Still on the maybe list.

Do the BRZ/GR86 count?

Freudian slip.

Fair on that last part.

Hi, former Prelude owner.

I think there has always been a manifestation lapse with the Prelude - we so want it to be the lively sports coupe it should be but it never seems to have any spirit or intensity behind its rationality and diplomat-grade manners.

This one doesn't look to be any different.

If/when you get the chance: I couldn't afford it (not even close, still so) but just for the sake of it I tried on an Armani suit jacket once and it was like Oh, this is from someone who understands the human body and how to make it look and feel absolutely glorious. Both indulgent and transcendent.
