20 years ago I was running a blog about the animals from Douglas Adams' book "Last Chance to See". We raised some $$$ to adopt a 3-year old Mountain Gorilla called Urwibutso. How he has grown!!! Check out this video from the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund youtu.be/UHbZnktMvhw

Fabulous!! I shared this in a few places!!
Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

Attention NJ #doop fans for Saturday 5/10. I just got this, which is exactly the window I'd be heading down to the Soob.

DRPA: Commodore Barry Bridge WB lanes to close for 20 mins between 3PM-5PM on 5/10 for charity bike event. Seek alternate route during that time.

Another TV tie-in book for my growing collection. The first "Steptoe & Son" novelization was shipped to me from Australia, just like "Steptoe & Son at the Palace" was. It's in very good condition. Partial collection shown.

What a lovely story. I treasure my full set of Big Finish Monthly adventures. Even though I now have most of them on download too, there is something different about putting the CD on in the car and having that theme tune blast out and fill my journey with brand new adventures in space and time!

@philadelphiaunion.com Who programmed the MLS app? How hard is this? The standings show that we tied today's game before we even play it. #doop

I'm on a vintage telly book phase at the minute. They make for quick easy reads when you know the characters well, and make me laugh.

I like the new MLS Mobile app a lot better than the old one. The AI chat bot is an interesting development, but I don't care for the LineUps page changing based on who *ended* the game rather than who *started*. Seems.... weird. #doop

Fantastic! Charley's War is an incredible piece of work and my full set of reprints is due for another read very soon. I had no hesitation in backing Harry Patch.
“Politicians who took us to war should have been given the guns and told to settle their differences themselves, instead of organising nothing better than legalised mass murder.”
Harry Patch, the last Tommy. A great source of inspiration for Ragtime Soldier.

@paulvanezis.bsky.social Random question about Doctor Who Blu-ray releases. Is there anything I can do about horizontal ghosting I get on my big TV? It doesn't happen all the time and I can't decide if it's specific to the specific BBC camera that shot particular scenes, or is it my player or TV?
