For a couple of years, I've been really enjoying some "Progression Fantasy," mainly "Cultivation" and "Xianxia" novels. One of my favorite things are the unfamiliar phrases that resonate with my outlook.

"In a group of three, there's always something to learn from someone."

Watching "Quartermass and the Pit" and an apropos moment:
Quartermass: "Roney, if we found out earth was doomed - say, by climatic changes - what would we do about it?"
Roney: "Nothing. Just go on squabbling as usual."

The movie was made in 1967.

I have very little tolerance for people with no respect for my boundaries. Pile on general stupidity (in the literal definition) and any tolerance left goes away. Stir that together in a work organization that demands constant (and near daily) "number go up," and that mixture becomes a threat.

Sunday is a great day for some "make ahead" plans for the week. Last week it was a pot of red beans to go with rice. This week it's a pot of gumbo made with a leftover smoked chicken. #CajunCooking

At work, I share my thoughts about how people should avoid the trap of "motivation," versus "discipline," in the context of delivering on a task, and yet I rely on fleeting "motivation" for many personal creative projects.

Why didn’t “86” mean assassinate when Maga wrote it about Joe Biden?

Lessons from the years: Don't bend over directly towards a toilet bowl when something is in your shirt pocket, or if you're wearing sunglasses or glasses on the top of your head.

I haven't clicked on any links about it, but the headlines are full of Republican outrage accusing someone else of SOMETHING THEY CONSTANTLY DO.

Won't someone rid me of this troublesome priest?

I love the fact that whenever I start to do something around the house or in the kitchen, I have a couple of cats who want to find out what’s going on.

I almost always say "Happy <day of the week>" to my team when I get on calls/chats with them. I almost always forget what day of the week it actually is.

After the floors were vacuumed, all the cat toys got piled up on the rug. One of my cats has decided she is a queen of the pile, and is using the pineapple as her pillow. #CatsOfBluesky #Cats #BabyPics
