I translate videogames for money.

Musician, writer, worldbuilder, geek.

Worried about the state of things , and willing to do something about it.

Writing into the void.

Will post about: Gaming, translation, politics, random thoughts.
Human translator here. While commendable (seriously!) there is a downside of clauses like this: AI checkers that falsely flag normal speech (and —) as AI are forcing the translator to prove they didn't use AI in order to get paid. What a Time to be alive.

Yeah, I canceled my Prime on Jan 20th, was going to subscribe to Paramount and then didn't, same with Disney… No more FB (which hurt the most), no insta, no Twitter—it's all just entertainment, I'd rather stick with my principles and do _something_, however insignificant.

I've been doing about 100K for the last 2 1/2 months (with external proofreading) and I am ready to retire. Pretty sure I will not have time for a complete second pass myself.

A week.

What's with those people?

I'm looking for stories about how AI is killing creative work, and I'd love to hear from you—artists, writers, illustrators, actors, designers, editors, voice actors and narrators—if your job or practice has been hit. This is going to be a big one.
