Indeed, but the point still stands. Most people don’t think that deeply about it, or they wouldn’t keep electing people and parties that widen inequality and, ultimately, make their lives (and society) worse.

I don’t think he’s worse than any of the last five. It was more of a general comment on the run from 2010 up to him.

That may be true for people who consider what voting really means, but I’ve done a lot of canvassing over the years and most people just want a government (or a council) that sorts stuff out and makes their life better, not worse. They don’t give that much thought beyond who they’ve seen and liked.

You’re right but if you ask people on doorsteps you’ll find an awful lot of them are voting based on personality as much as party (if not more).

Or maybe we should stop voting in PMs who are successively worse than the previous one?

It makes me so angry how the Arts have taken such a kicking in this country over the last fifteen years. Our cultural output has been such a phenomenal soft power on the world stage for decades now but that power is waning rapidly.
