"To thrive, we must embrace simplicity: consume less, connect more, and restore nature's balance. Overconsumption strains our planet—especially in developed nations. Let’s rethink values and foster a future where all life can flourish. 🌍💚 #Sustainability #ReWild"

"Rewilding is forward-looking: it aims to enhance functionality for biodiversity, accepting & indeed promoting the dynamic nature of ecosystems. (...) It is thus especially relevant in our epoch of increasingly novel biosphere conditions, driven by strong human-induced global change."
🌍 #WorldRewildingDay In @currentbiology.bsky.social, we show how trophic rewilding🦬🐂boosts #biodiversity, seed dispersal🌱 & nutrient cycling🪲

Good practice in line with other releases, I’m sure: Remind me, how long is it that landowners have to monitor the impact of pheasant releases? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

New research assesses in detail the contributions of wildlife to people.

Humanity relies on an array of ecosystem services for well-being and survival, but the provision of these services rely not just on vegetation but also the wild animals that inhabit the ecosystems.

“Why spend billions to colonize Mars while our own planet suffers? The damage from mining, CO2 emissions, and overconsumption is already devastating. We must learn to use less, live better, and restore Earth—our only true home.”

🌍 In the West, people emit 10-16 tons of CO2 annually, while in Africa, it's just 1 ton. To tackle climate change, we must reduce consumption, use less energy, buy fewer things, and seek low-carbon ways to enjoy life. Small changes can make a big impact! 🌿

“While climate change & high winds are major drivers of wildfires in LA, let’s also consider how an overburdened electric grid might contribute. Increased demand from EVs strains the system, potentially increasing fire risks. #Wildfires #ElectricVehicles
