I noticed that our neighbour hadn't taken in her milk for 2/3 days. Curtains open, no answer at door. So, called 101. Police arrived, and got Fire/Rescue to "gain entry". Once in they found info that she was on holiday in the Shetlands and forgotten to cancel the milk.
Probably won't forget again.

Moving furniture around so plumbers can cut a hole in the floor to find an intermittent blockage. Appear to have been found and fixed, so move stuff back.
My wife phones and, while I am moving a small cabinet back, I find a desiccated mouse and scream like a baby.

My grandmother lived in Tayport, Fife and we would spend holidays there during the 60s and 70s. We'd often see (and hear) pairs of these taking off from RAF Leuchars, a few miles away, on their way to welcome Russian aircraft to the edge of British airspace. And no further.
