My grandmother lived in Tayport, Fife and we would spend holidays there during the 60s and 70s. We'd often see (and hear) pairs of these taking off from RAF Leuchars, a few miles away, on their way to welcome Russian aircraft to the edge of British airspace. And no further.

I had been looking forward to it coming since I was a child, but was most disappointed in 1986. I will have to be a smidge over 100 to see it again and I fully expect continual clouds over Edinburgh for about six months, as is usual.
