Writer. Sometimes answers to Mason.

For new followers trying to work out who the hell I am, I've written six thrillers as Mason Cross, two as Alex Knight, and my next one (coming 2026) will be under my own name.

Hence me taking the opportunity to be myself on this new platform.

My personal motto is 'apologies for the confusion'.
As one of the judges on this panel, I think we did a pretty good job! Six brilliant books.

This is cool: to mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of THE GREAT GATSBY (which I'd argue is a crime novel), the Library of Congress is hosting a marathon live reading of the book, starting at 10:00 a.m.: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ums...

The Winter Gardens at the Peoples' Palace on Glasgow Green. Built in 1898, it was extensively renovated for its 100th anniversary in 1998, including reglazing it.

Looking forward to seeing the ‘Fossil Free Books’ crew withdraw their books from Waterstones (which is owned by Elliott).
Elliott Investment Management shouldering its way into BP, to leverage core fossil fuel business & hive off renewables. But as I’ve pointed out before, EIM controls Waterstones-Blackwells. Will we see an authors’ bookshop boycott à la Baillie Gifford?🧐🤫

Publishers testing the waters with AI narration for audiobooks need to think very carefully about what they're doing.

It's going to play out like the sugar tax - you're going to completely fuck the product with zero financial benefit to show for it.

Shout out to @thenewsagents.com for not taking the piss with their ads. I always skip the first 3 mins of Rest is Politics/Entertainment and live with losing a few seconds of actual content. With News Agents the ads are brief enough that I just let them run.
