We proceeded in the direction of the roar.As we got nearer I could see the white foaming surf;against a black sky it looked awesome.The tide was carrying us along at a fair old pace,so before I had time to worry any more we were in swirling waters and being thrown around like a cork. - Bill Sparks.

At the BBC talking about the Lincolnshire Regiment during WW2. The legacy of this publication was a memorial on Sword Beach in Normandy where the 2 Lincolns landed on #DDay unveiled for the 70th Anniversary June 2014.
