Both battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses are fueled by consuming natural gas. It is far more efficient to just use natural gas buses.
North County Transit District Struggles to Afford the Price of Being Carbon Free
The district, trying to meet a state regulation, can’t operate all its hydrogen buses due to the expensive cost of fuel.

I see the wasp nest / gasoline videos on social media and I want to do this so bad. There should be a exterminator company where I can pay for the chance to do this for some random homeowner. 🤣

The Padres throwing elaborate parties for their executives while claiming they can’t pay their employees a living wage is not the best look. Doing it at a city park for free is 🤌.

remember folks, we cant have gun restrictions because if we do the federal government will occupy our streets, imprison people without due process, ship dissidents to foreign gulags and things of that nature

VOSD will not acknowledge that Board of Supervisors seats are nonpartisan. Referring to all local officials as Democrats or Republicans has contributed to local politics’ divisiveness. We need space for the 25% of registered voters who aren’t members of either party to serve in elected positions.

As a transit planner, I’m concerned SB 79 may inadvertently halt new high-quality transit projects in California. Local elected officials on transit boards will not likely approve new projects where they would lose land use control.

re: tariff inflation discourse, it's worth mentioning again that if tariffs *don't* raise prices, then there's no way they "incentivize" domestic production

The mechanism by which they're supposed to re-shore industry is by increasing prices for imported goods and reducing trade

Staff: Mr. President, we think Iran is enriching uranium.

DJT: Good for them. I just enriched Trump Tower with new A/C. And did you see the sick new rims on my limo?

Staff: Mr. President, In this case, enrichment is a bad word.

DJT: Oh, I see. So do I need to remove the rims?
Trump: "Enrichment doesn't mean, like, air conditioning, and it doesn't mean to jack up your car. Enrichment is a bad word."

You underestimate how many position players think they can pitch and beg their manager to do it. I doubt it is the same for hockey goalies.
The position-players-pitching thing was one of those things that was really fun for like, exactly 10 games and has since become tiresome and shitty as its become more prevalent, to the extent that the league had the modify the rules of the sport to mitigate how stupid it was bsky.app/profile/mark...
The think about a position player coming into pitch is that there is a chance you get to see an eephus pitch. Those are fun!

It is hard to buy that Fordo was “obliterated” when this building was left untouched. They should have a least dropped a couple of small bombs on it for show.

One of the ways the Padres dogwalk the City is by using Gallagher Square for their own private events. Today they are hosting a family event for their players (average $8.5 million salary), without compensating the City for the use of the city-owned park. @cmwhitburnd3.bsky.social

@colinparent.bsky.social’s main solution to close the MTS funding gap is to award a more expensive fare collection contract to Cubic, a company that funds his non-profit (@circulatesd.bsky.social) and has a seat on their Board. @voiceofsandiego.org should note this at the end for transparency.

Good opinion piece, but pinning reduced fare revenue on Pronto vendor is misguided. Revenue reduction has more to do with reduced enforcement and fare capping. You will never guess which fare technology vendor donated money to Colin's company. (Hint: The one that cost $16 million more)

Most residents of marginalized communities don’t want mega projects, they want more frequency bus service with extended service hours. It is transit advocates, politicians, and unions that want the mega projects.
In which we dissect the "conceptual planning study" of a high-speed rail line in San Diego, and consider the risks of dangling mega projects in front of marginalized communities with no realistic plan to build them:

San Diego's 'Purple Line' subway — and the dangers of 'planning fatigue'
SANDAG has long envisioned a new rail line from the border to Sorrento Mesa. But a recent planning study found immense cost and engineering challenges.
