That's not right. In terms of no. of local news titles, Reach is actually only the third largest, well behind Newsquest and also below National World (though they do, tbf, have a few of the larger, more well known ones). But you're right in terms of how they share content

Everything about this - the cruelty of the policy, the glee with which the Sun celebrates it ('Bling Sting'), the racists who will lap it up - is sickening. The country is heading towards a very dark place

What’s striking about this front page, the story inside and the editorial connected to it is that there isn’t a single attempt to challenge Mahmood on this language, and no voice whatsoever for people who will be directly affected by this policy

I've been following media coverage of immigration in detail over the last six weeks. There hasn't been a day during that period that the British people weren't told that asylum seekers are a drain on society or a danger to women and children

Illegal migration isn't tearing this country apart, but our obsession with it is. It's an obsession fuelled by our media and politicians. Both profit from blowing the problem out of all proportion. It's been happening for decades, but never more so than now

Massive congratulations to @tbij.bsky.social's family court reporter @hansummers.bsky.social who, alongside @louisetickle.bsky.social, won Campaign of the Year at last night's Society of Editors Media Freedom Awards. Hugely well-deserved

.@tbij.bsky.social's brilliant family court reporter @hansummers.bsky.social's ongoing investigation into unregulated experts and parental alienation has made a spread in today's @dailymail.co.uk

As it happened, due to his resemblance to the man himself, at around this time dad used to earn a few quid on the side by acting as Best’s decoy while he was out on the tiles, sprinting out of nightclubs into waiting cars in the hope of luring away the paparazzi

The oldest story of his that I’ve found is a four-page spread in 1972 for IPC News (the newspaper of the International Publishing Corporation) on how the Mirror tracked down George Best amid rumours of an imminent transfer to Real Madrid

I’m off for half-term and, as well as spending time with the kids, I’ve also been transferring both my dad’s and my own stories from boxes in my loft to display books, so they’re easier to access. All in all it’s about half a century of local journalism

Football Manager 26 early access is a little buggy on launch. My favourite one so far is Richarlison forgetting to take his tracksuit off before coming on as a sub

I live in fear of accidentally pressing this button and replying "done mate."

Good to see Tel get the nod but disappointing to see the double pivot in midfield for a home game. Would much prefer Bergvall or Sarr over Bentancur (albeit I don’t know how fit or otherwise players have come back from international duty)
October 19, 2025 at 11:57 AM
A pointless interview with a player who has very little to say beyond the sort of ill-informed crap posted on X by people with England flag avatars, headlined in the most rage-bait way possible

Trying to contact a local council press office

This was the front page of today's Sun. I can't imagine where the misguided fury these people feel about asylum seekers comes from

Two very different ways of covering the same report

I try to do as much of the editing process away from screens, particularly the first read of a story, as I'm better able to focus and take it all in when working with hard copy. To level-up my analogue game I've got a fancy new dictionary. It might just be the best thing I've bought all year

I’ve read some terrible opinions on here. This one is right up there

Take a moment to appreciate how entertaining (and confusing) it must be to be an Entracht Frankfurt fan at the moment

Readers of the excellent @londoncentric.media will see a familiar name in our employment tribunals investigation - Preston Benson, whose company, Peckham Levels, hasn't paid a £65,000 tribunal award.

Last weekend LC exposed his failed attempts to open cinemas in the capital

A few days left for journalists to apply for our Family Court mentoring scheme and be supported by the brilliant (and recently shortlisted for reporter of the year) @hansummers.bsky.social
