One of the biggest disappointments of the year.

Instead I heartily recommend reading Annie Jacobson's well researched and coldly terrifying Nuclear War: A Scenario. After finishing it some time ago, it has never been far from my mind.

Given the current climate on the stage of world politics, we need this generations Threads, Fail Safe or The Day After. I thought A House of Dynamite could be that, but after a blisteringly paced opening 30mins it's so corny & cowardly in execution that it feels like a complete waste of a good point

My son won an award at school today.

This is how he accepted it in front of the school and parents.

Brian De Palma, when are you going to fix that shot in Blow Out where both John Travolta and an Owl are in focus at the same time despite being at two separate focal lengths? How could you let this blunder slide?

So I did an important thing worth talking about. Saved a young girl from making an irreversible decision in a tragic moment of her life by talking to her. She didn’t speak much but after a while she allowed me to hold her hand and it went from there.

Love Danny Boyle to bits. Few directors, filmmakers or media personalities would have that kind of humility and reflection to admit they were part of a larger industry problem. In fact, we’ve seen it destroy the minds of such people when faced with valid criticism (Linehan and the trans community).

I looked at this thumbnail for a solid two minutes trying to figure out who the overly photoshopped lady in the back was. I couldn't figure it out.

Apparently it's Julianne Moore.
