Hello everyone! We're media co-op, a female-led workers' co-op and social enterprise with 20 years experience making films and animations for the third sector 🎥

We'd love to start following other Scottish charities / creatives / co-operators: anyone got any starter packs they could share?

Housing and energy are the two growth sectors in the movement since 2020. Housing will always be important, but for me, hasn't always seen the focus that it deserves. Thankfully CCH work tirelessly to raise the profile. #coops

Admittedly I'm a member of the Fox and Goose, so I would say that they deserve a follow. Cooperation should be meaningful and genuine, regardless of the sector said coop operates in.
And with one bound, they were free!

Cooperation, makes it happen.
Letterbox Library was set up as (and remains!) a not-for-profit workers’ cooperative ✊

2025 has been named International Year of Cooperatives.

To all the coops: we stand with you & are proud to be amongst you.

#coops A movement built by the ppl for the ppl.
🗓 December 21st marks 180 years since the Rochdale Pioneers launched the modern cooperative movement. They opened a small store to provide affordable, quality food, and the idea rapidly spread throughout England and the world. Co-ops granted women a vote for the first time in their lives. 💁‍♂️🙋‍♀️

The war in Ukraine is vile. War is vile.
2024 is ending.
We are currently in the most complicated and challenging point since the start of the full-scale war.

Deadlock, war of attrition, strategic uncertainty - there are many terms to describe today's situation.

I am attempting to clone myself. Seriously, it will help with growth. Twice the trouble.
The Trouble with Double - Workshop 1: More, bigger or better?

We’d need to set up just over 11,500 new #coops by the end of this Parliament to double the sector. What are the chances?

And, while we’re focusing on creating lots of new start-ups what's happening to the existing 9,350?

Why wouldn't we. Really..
Scotland and the UK very much need this too.

#MarcoraLaw #WellbeingEconomy #SocEnt #Coop #Coops
Italy's Marcora Law supports worker buyouts. Worker-owned cooperatives that have been established by workers purchasing a business facing closure or being put up for sale exhibit a 3-year survival rate of 87%, contrasting with the 48% survival rate of Italian enterprises. 👷

"The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not followers." I forget who this is from, but the sentiment is apt. The mvmt, doesn't need more tetchy managers who have to try and prove their dominance.
