I wonder with ubi how much open source development/design could be done

It could be a game changer in setting up dev/design coops
November 9, 2025 at 10:46 PM
what if we’ve been pronouncing “coop” wrong and chicken coops are actually chicken co-ops and all the chickens are partial owners and have lil ownership meetings inside about hay distribution and what not
November 7, 2025 at 6:48 PM
This is also why you should never have night time lighting in your chicken coops. They will lay all year (it’s based on amount of light) which is just super bad on their bodies, but also there isn’t a single brain cell banging around between those eyes. If they can see, it’s day time.

This article is great. Trickle-down, “abundance,” market solutions like ending parking requirements won’t work. But what will work? Rent control. Coops. Let’s look to nearby cities for solutions like that – for example…*checks notes*…Philly’s no-strings-attached 10-year tax abatement for developers!

Coops.

She was literally up all night. Not sure what’s going on with her.

Looking for a coffee substitute?

Guayusa is great ('rocket fuel' a friend says) & often grown by Indigenous/local communities & coops via #agroecology #agroforestry, supporting #biodiversity & #climate too

I mail order it but was glad to finally meet this generous tree while traveling in Ecuador:

or reclaim business as the natural commerce of human beings, work toward coops and unionized shops etc and use the identity politically to our favor

The Cape May NJ #hawkwatch is an amazing site for hawks. However I always 'just missed' the big flights...until now! From Oct 15-17, I caught a huge surge of Cooper's Hawk, Sharpie, Kestrel & Merlin migration. Personally, I saw ~500 Coops in 3 days. Official count was 1,700+ Coops. 🤯🪶 #birding

Fruit coops in CA did some land developments where they basically sold 5-acre ranchette homes, that came pre-planted with citrus or avocado groves.

IIRC the new homeowners had the option to either manage the groves themselves, or just live there & have the co-op manage it.
I wonder if there are any replicable examples of how to get office workers to put together their capital into loan funds or cooperatively financed farms that farm workers can run and eventually own. Seems that if big capital won’t help us, maybe we could help each other?

Yup still her. And haven’t been seen since Spring. And we pay her 460k+ for her services.

Canada should be holding someone accountable for this spread.

They’re ventilating the chicken coops however in the Fraser valley. The chickens have better air filtration than our school children.

Nothing we can do about it.

Meanwhile across the border in Derry. They have and are building hundreds of homes. Housing Coops and Council homes. It shames the FFFG attempts.

I would guess that ICE has been rounding up chicken coops full of "Cherished Christians" and there's no problem there so it's definitely about oil.

I’m trying to get people to start food coops and farm csa to get off big agriculture, but people don’t believe a non profit store can work despite their being a lot of them.

Oligarchs own the whole vertical integration of food to table. Let’s cut them off there.

Also employee owned biz.

We buy whole bean from Dean's Beans. All fair-trade, many bird-friendly, some women-owned coops, from all over the world. A 5# bag runs us about a hundred bucks including shipping and lasts a couple of months. Several roasts and grinds available, you can even get greens to roast your own.

Form coops and mutual aid networks now. If you're a manager type, help organize bulk buying and distribution but make sure everyone has a job so we can expand rapidly
