🌱 🥕 first real harvest from the Autumn garden! Figured what better time to check on the size of the carrots than Thanksgiving day?
These carrots and radishes will go into a veggie bed under the turkey as it roasts in the oven~ 😋

And now we wait an hour for the rolls to rise~
I like to proof them in a cold oven with a pan of hot water underneath to give humidity and warmth.

Ready made graham cracker crust and no bake cheesecake with a tiny bit of blueberry pie filling mixed in and drizzled over~

Been trying out a gluten free pie crust recipe~
The 🎃 pie was made a week or so ago and was completely from scratch (canned pumpkin was the only cheating).
The apple pie was last night and I used canned apple pie filling for this one. Both came out very well though ❤️

🌱 here's my last bed~
it's got onion bulbs planted from the harvest I got (from seed) last spring. I stored them inside over the summer and planted them when they started sprouting.
Growing them again for flowers and seeds~

🌱 The slight teases of autumn are nice but looking forward to real cool temps in a few months lol
Oh also might have finally finished prepping 5 of the beds for carrot seeds later this week and also maybe burned in the sun 👀

🌱 went ahead and harvested some dried pods. There were way more than I was expecting!!

Did another bone meal treatment yesterday. Currently have 4 melons again of various small sizes
Haven't had time water in days and days... #tooMuchRain
Also haven't been measuring daily due to the wetness everywhere and tall itchy grass

🌱 speaking of peas... the 2nd batch of them that I planted 3 days ago are already sprouting! Hopefully this helps the nitrogen levels before autumn planting later this year

🌱 The Pinkeye Purple Hull peas are sooooo bushy! Yet at the same time they are viny too 🤔
A few of them are actively climbing the unfinished framework while the rest are weaving together into living cords of rope
And there's more and more pods! Think it's cute how they rise up above the leaves ❤️

I think I decided to scrap all my current 2025-26 plans though and focus on the soil.
Had a stockpile of kitchen scraps to feed the bed for 2 weeks, then gonna plant more beans to sit until Sept (then 🥕)

🌱 before I forget to share.. got the last few Vidalia onions pull up (since a rainy week is in the forecast). Grand total is 65 onions that all weigh 24 lbs when added up :0

When the garden center has zero "cowpea" seeds for sale I can trust on Camellia brand having them in bulk. Only spent $5 on all these seeds lol 🌱
