I love pre codes and Jane Fonda
Had the opportunity to see Boys Go to Jupiter today. Animation can be hit or miss for me, but it was gorgeous and hilarious. There's a good review scene unlike anything I've seen on film.

Watched my first Dorothy Arzner film last night - Merrily We Go to Hell. Pre-codes still surprise me with their frankness. When she starts dating young Cary Grant right in front of her husband? She really is a modern woman!

Nina Mae McKinney plays a small but impactful role as the hotel keeper who sings while she works. Getting to hear her sing is a breath of fresh air amidst the tragedies of Safe in Hell.

Had the opportunity to watch the 1931 pre code "Safe in Hell" last night. A real tragedy. A lot to be said about the protagonist's struggle for control in dire situations. Extremely impressed by her constantly lighting matches with the flick of a finger.

Gene Kelly.

I've seen 20+ of his films. An American in Paris might be due for a rewatch soon.

The visuals in 'Bubble Bath' are absurd and ever changing throughout the film.
