Giving families paid leave for giving birth is a lot less helpful when it takes 6 weeks to get claims approved and paid out! Families who just had babies usually have lots of bills to pay and not everyone has six weeks of runway!

That is extremely not true. Whether you agree or disagree with a a scientific conclusion is immaterial, what matters is what the data says about it and whether the conclusion fits into the data or not.

My local mayor election is headed for a run-off. The difference between the second place candidate (who will make it to the run-off and probably win) and the third place (missed the run-off) is 10 votes!
