These and vorticella from a local brackish-water pond were some of the first ciliates to fascinate me as a kid and I've never gotten over them!🥰

This is more than disturbing...it is out of the scope of mindful language. The are diverse assemblages of plants and animals that thrive in old growth forests and no where else. How is this destruction allowed?
