Phylum Priapulida. Originating in the Middle Cambrian, they are predators of small inverts. Large are mostly deep sea but many species are tiny meiofauna. Their presence in the fossil record declined with the rise of more successful marine annelids (polychaetes), possibly spurring their decline. 🌍🦑🌿

I like all of them, but ombotrophic bogs have some really cool carnivorous plants! 🌎🌿
