Urgent action needed: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in MN is under threat. A Chilean mining company proposes a sulfide-ore copper mine on the lands surrounding BCWAW. The mine would leach sulfuric acid and heavy metals, permanently polluting the BCWAW’s pristine landscape and waters.

Fueled by climate change, wildfires now destroy twice as much tree cover per acre as a 2 decades ago. Over the past 24 years, wildfires have erased 1.5 million sq km (600,000 sq mi) of forest, an area the size of Mongolia. 4 of the 5 worst years on record for forest fires have occurred since 2020.
