I have committed to keep my curls and love them in their gray form when they grow gray.

Same! Also had comments how I “dress loudly (like a Latina), and that curly hair is not “professional”. Over the years, a thousand paper cuts

God forbid there's a complication. And valuable learning opportunities for trainees will now be truncated by hospitals who don't want to eat the cost of anesthesia.

Also the sheer number of preventable errors that will occur because people feel rushed to finish *on time* instead of doing it right

We looked into RRT activations for pts w/ #ESLD who were in the Tx list vs. those who were not.
➡️ we found differences between reasons for RRT activation
➡️ we found differences in the amount of goals of care discussions that happened
➡️ we found no difference in ICU transfers based on Tx candidacy

Couldn’t agree more with you! When I read the study I was actually surprised about how inconsistent the methods were.

Finally: we need a moratorium on any more retrospective studies on this.

The last 10 years of retrospective studies on piptazo have led to a LOT of misleading studies.

More retro studies will NOT help.

We need high-quality RCTs.

As always I'd be happy to change my mind, but I need real data.

After I posted that blog, Hamilton et al. published a manuscript on MedRxiv that explains the nitty gritty of what went wrong in the study.

JAMA-IM refused to publish their letter to the editor, but you can read it here:

(feels like a banned book!)
