Growth will come from investing in infrastructure that we all depend on. The Chancellor must ensure that funding covers the cost of delivery, so that every child can thrive, and parents can stay in work. Doing so will boost tax receipts, cut the benefits bill, and deliver growth for all of us. 2/2

Today's Spring Statement is the Chancellor's last opportunity to ensure that families are not picking up the bill for rising NICs and wage costs. With early years providers having no choice but to raise fees for parents, there is a real risk that this will force parents out of work. 1/2

Government must ensure that the boost to personalised employment support is tailored to and funded for young people with SEND.

They must also recognise that those with more complex needs may not be able to work, and will need financial support to live.

We are extremely concerned by the Government's confirmation in the Spring statement to cut disability benefits by £4.8 billion, including reducing eligibility for the Personal Independence Payment.

🧐What did you think of today's Spring Statement? 🧐

The Chancellor spoke about growing the economy and to do that we need solid infrastructure.

Early education and care including wraparound care is the most important part of this infrastructure.

We acknowledge the state of public finances and the challenges faced by the Government. As we look to the spending review and Autumn budget, it is absolutely vital that growth works for the long-term by being rooted in nature’s renewal and harnessing the power of heritage-led regeneration.

We're inspired by your support for each other & heard concerns around underfunding, the two tier system that could emerge as a result of the charging guidance & rising business rates locally.
